mema, my dad's mom, died today.
we are beyond sad. horrifically shocked.
i am absolutely nauseous that leighton never got to meet her.
thinking about her has always helped keep me grounded;
she knew the important things in life but few of the luxuries.
kind. smart. humble. quiet. witty. loyal. generous.
we were blessed by her simple life & blessed by her strong love.

Sara, so sorry. I want you to know that she has good company in Heaven. Our Auntie Lizzy (grandma--she raised my dad) died the same day as your Mema. I bet they met each other at the gates!
